No scroll bars, no problem!
Since the introduction of OS 10.7 (Lion) Apple thought it would be a good idea to hide the scrollbars and have them appear only when needed. This seemed to be great at first, but most of us quickly found out it posed a big problem when trying to navigate and use certain applications e.g. PowerTeacher Pro. Here's how you get your scrollbars back:

Step One
Select System Preferences from the Apple menu at the top left of your screen.
Step Two
Select General from the System Preferences window.
Step Three
Choose Always from the Show scroll bars option list.
